01 February 2021

March marks World Endometriosis Month.

ESGN is proud to partner with you on its Annual Secondary School Essay Contest for 2021. The contest seeks to engage girls in high school in learning and writing about the condition, Endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a condition that affects a woman’s reproductive organs. It happens when the tissue that lines the uterus begins to grow outside the uterus. It is a chronic and debilitating condition that causes painful or heavy periods. It may also lead to infertility, pelvic pain, fatigue, bowel and bladder problems.

ESGN aims to create awareness about this invisible disease to the populace especially the Nigerian girl child as this affect females in general.

The Endometriosis Essay Competition is a platform developed to create awareness amongst adolescents. It also aims to promote creative writing while also encouraging research for knowledge on the topic.

To this end, we crave your interest to encourage appreciation and create an awareness’s role in building partnerships that can advance women’s health. The 2021 contest challenges students to closely examine the impact of the condition as it affects everyday life. We are sponsoring an essay contest for a selection of high school students. The topic for this year is “the impact of Endometriosis on the quality of life”.

Entrants will submit essays in writing to their schools. Schools will submit their best two essays. The deadline for all submissions is on or before Friday, March 5th, 2021.
