Dr. Abiodun Fakokunde
Dr Abiodun Fakokunde is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist expert and currently serving in the capacity of a consultant at the BMI Kings Oak and Cavell Hospitals, as well as North Middlesex University Hospital, London, where he has been a consultant for the past 7 years and is currently the clinical lead for Women’s Health. He is also an associate professor with the St George’s Medical School, Granada and Honorary Senior Lecturer with University College Hospital Medical School in London.
His expertise lies in complex fibroid surgery including repeat surgery and difficult abdominal hysterectomy in fibroid uterus. He is a certified and practising colposcopist (screening and treatment of pre-cancer diseases of the cervix) who offers office treatment and day surgical care in the treatment of pre-cancer lesion of the cervix including cone biopsy. His expertise lies in complex fibroid surgery including repeat surgery and difficult abdominal hysterectomy in fibroid uterus.
He had his medical training at the University of Ibadan and followed immediately with a Postgraduate training in Obstetrics at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) London, a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecologist (SOGON, The British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) and European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is happily married.
